Tottori Week
day 6 & 7 [saturday, 26/3 + sunday, 27/3]:
saturday, not unlike wednesday, was boring. we just went around tottori, comparing prices for keitais and other stuffs needed for our house. in the end we didnt even buy a keitai, coz the store with the cheapest price (where my friends bought thier laptops) was already closing when we got there. >.>
sunday morning. went to buy the keitais. the 3g phones we liked were out of stock. had to wait till april. just our luck >< so, to drown our frustations, we went to the tottori sand dunes. it was ... wierd, seeing a small desert between the forest and the sea. the sand dunes has camel and horse rides, a near-vertical sand dune (which we climbed) and even an oasis! afterwards, the guys went to eat a nashi-softokurim (pear-flavoured soft ice cream) while i played with a black cat while trying to get over my sudden wooziness.
i got over it later that day, just before we went to a pasta restaurant to have dinner with our senpais who just came back to malaysia. it was my first time eating cream spaggetti with prawns.
so that wraps up my first week at tottori. sorry for the late updates. and i still havent found the time to upload the piccies.
Tuesday Late Night Tottori Outing
we had an outing with our senpais last tuesday night. first we went karaoke-ing at a karaoke joint with 'kontena's as rooms. at least it was cheap (500 yen a person for 3 hours!). the other ichinens (1st years, 4 of us for those who forgot) were a bit sheepish, so i went first after the senpais showed us how to set what songs comes next. guess what song i chose! .... ASTERISK!!! XD sayang i cant read the kanji fast enough to rap decently ><
i also sang nami tamaki's believe and reason, 3eb's semi-charmed life and shakalabbits' hoshizora no shita de. i wanted to finish with another english song, but my senpais were so mesmerised by anuar's (one of the ichinens) rendition of N'Sync's This I Promise You that they requested an encore. and anuar doesnt even like N'Sync... poor fellow XP
we stopped at 1.30 as the sannens (3rd years, 2 of them) had to sleep early. the ninens (2nd years, also 2 of them) then brought us to a pay-per-entry arcade called JJ's where played old skool arcades (they didnt even have ez2d nor taiko there ><) until 4.30. we slept the moment we came back home that night. but it was very teh fun! i hope they'll bring us out again in the near future!! (coz the only way we can go there at night is by car, and only the senpais have cars, for now)
well, that's it for now. stay tuned as i move into our new house this 1 or 2 April. this is shoji, signing off. over XD
Tottori Week day 5 [friday, 25/3]: later that night the guys went to buy their computers, which later turned out to be the same Sony Vaios for each of them. they even got a discount for buying in bulk. heh. u shouldve seen the cashier's face when they said 3 computers please. XD and then after dinner we went to sleep in our futon. ill continue part 3 of Tottori Week after this, coz im leaving now to buy our keitais. till then, this is shoji, signing out. over. XPXP p/s: piccies will be on9 soon. matte ne~~
day 3 & 4 [wednesday, 23/3 + thursday, 24/3]:
we shopped. and shopped. and did some other things, which i will list here:
one words for ya. SNOW! we woke up to a cold white afternoon (yeah, we're late risers. XP) we later continued our house-hunt, but this time it ended in success. XD we found ourselves a nice 1st-storey apato with 3 rooms, a kitchen and a nice view, all at a negotiably low price of 60,000 yen (which divided by 4 becomes 15,000 yen per person a month, which is lower than the university's college rent)
Tottori Week
day 1 [sunday, 20/3 + monday, 21/3]:
i arrived at KLIA around 6 pm with my family. Our flight was at 11.55pm, so... {fast forward} 11pm. we were early. too early. so i pulled out my natsumi and had a PV marathon, starting with my new love, Morning Musume's Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari. it's just SOOOOO KYOOOOOTE. we boarded the Boeing 777 an hour later and after a short 6 hours we found ourselves disembarking at the (VERY COLD) Kansai International Airport. a few senpais were waiting for us there, where they had us transport our luggage to our respective universities. we then boarded a few busses and made our way to Chisun Hotel in Shin-Osaka, where we had our 2 day orientation with the JPA. putting the orientation course aside, here's a list of the things i did there on day one:
day 2 [tuesday 22/3]:
the orientation went on until 12pm, where we went our seperate ways. the 4 of us (the tottorians) rode on the Super Hakuto 7 (a Tokkyusha, not nearly as fast as a Shinkansen) on an express route to Tottori. 1.19-3.45 : Slept. The guys woke me up when we got to Tottori Station. One thing immediately caught my mind : Tottori is MUUUUCH colder than Osaka. *brrrr* A phone call and a few minutes later, we were in our senpai's car, on our way to our reception party at Sushi Waku (where they say has sushi much tastier than Sushi King) and later went to buy futons for us to sleep in. A dinner after and we all went to sleep in our futons in Abe's house.
Well, that's all the time i have. Stay tuned for the remaining days to "Tottori Week". Ja. This is shoji, signing out. Over. XD XD
the dinosaur revives! *GUAH* and be careful not to trip on any fossils lying around too. XD okay, enough messing around. like most of you know, i'm going to Japan this Sunday (KLIA, Terminal C, boarding at 9pm, be there) So in celebaration of me finally getting there, i decided to revamp my blog. i changed the background image so it doesn't mesh with the words.i also tweaked the blog's code a bit because i was told my old code was designed for IE, and i've converted to Firefox. so, what do ya think? (oh yeah, i also made a comment option available beneath each post to replace my now dead chatterbox, so do tell me what you think, ne)
since i called this a revival more than an update for the blog, i won't go into what happened the last 3 months i abandoned the blog. in a nutshell, i passed my exams, i went to a few outings and i decided to cosplay Kurogane [Tsubasa RC] and Kaien Shiba [Bleach] for CF 2005, that is, if i make it to CF la. *prays CF is held during his winter holidays* oh, and since we're on the topic, here are my cosplay siggies. i made the kurogane one (along with the other Tsubasa group's siggies) while sets made the kaien shiba one. enjoy:
moving on. as i mentioned earlier, i'm bound to Japan this Sunday, to further my studies in Civil Engineering at Tottori Daigaku. if you're wondering where the hell Tottori is, it is a city near Hiroshima and Osaka (near as in 5 hours drive ><) if ur still blur, go google it. *heh* anyways, in preperation for my 4 years of living there, i went on a shopping these past 2 weeks. things worth mentiong:
this is also going to be my last time online in malaysia before i go to Japan, because tomorrow my mom is banning me from my computer. "it's too close to your flight, you need to concentrate, blabitibla~ blabitibla~". parents... >.>
well, i guess that is all for now. stay tuned cause in a few weeks time this blog will brought to you live from the god-forsaken land that is Tottori, and i promise there will be piccies. PROMISE. Oh, not forgetting, i hereby declare this dinosau... i mean, blog, revived! this is shoji, signing off. over ;)
